Photo Review: lately

Only few days ago ended the two week holiday break, that we had, and like I've been expected, the days flew faster than the wind.

Of course there are more photos, with traditional Greek Easter scenery and some celebration cakes (shhh secrets), but these above are my favorite ones that remind me of my relaxing time. I'm probably having an artist's block for a while now, while trying to maintain calmness in the craze of my weeks that keep flying away, but hopefully creativity will find its way to my door :)

Paper folding

on April I was lucky enough to attend the first part of a paper folding seminar at the Εργαστήρι Τέχνης at Chalkida *art laboratory it means* , and here are some photos!

There was a projection with origami and paper folding history, and contemporary artists who use paper. Georgia Gremouti, a contemporary artist herself and the sweetest person, conducted the workshop and taught us a lot! To be honest I am totally fascinated, and can't wait to learn more on the subject.

Νoteworthy were the lab facilities, so awesome that it felt pretty neat just to be there. I also met a lot of very interesting people, and that's good news, not just because Chalkida is the town I'll be living soon.

We all folded a lot of paper!!

there are so many ways to use this technique (above there is a handwritten letter, folded and painted, I sent to my koubara :P ) Can't wait to find more ways to use it.

Oh and that was what I wore that day: A skirt I made just before the seminar (hallo folded pleats over there!) and a crocheted blouse I also made...and probably will be making more for our Etsy shop.

Some thoughts on the blog

A lot are about to change in Double Crochets' (aka Marietta and Panagiota) lives. We have some extra huge news to share (not just yet), and until then it might would be a good idea to share some of my thoughts on the Double Crochets' blog. What should it happen to it?

Apparently it will change, and probably you'll be seeing more of my stuff , and by that I mean ,even more of my lifestyle, personal interests, hobbies, photography, etc. I will always love to crochet, and there is no intent on stopping doing that although I find myself nowadays sewing and drawing more, and longing to share more of my personal stuff and photography work. One thought was to start a new blog under my name, but it turned out I couldn't keep up with both blogs. So it seems only fair to me that I should share them here! I felt a little guilty posting non-crochet content on Double Crochets, but then it would end up to be abandoned for a long time, so in one hand I have this blog and on the other my longing to blog....so why not blogging after all?
 It won't be just crocheting , and maybe that's just fine!

 It doesn't mean that you won't be hearing from Panagiota! But for now, until everything is settled down, it will be mostly me keeping up with the Double Crochets's blog, etsy shop, facebook, orders etc.


so what's your opinion?

On air!

the other day we we on air! at Maria Pavlou radio show...

lately

life is good, and life is crazy.
Meanwhile our brother is the best.... not just because he helped us out, with our weekend market !

 :P

he is really cool, and he neverminds the cuteness!! (here he is with Renata from Renata Malavazou vintage)
And on top of his coolness, he also helped me to photograph our new series of hair combs!!! He is pretty awesome and, no jokes, he knows how to knit.
