Βερύκοκο

"βερύκοκο" means apricot in Greek!
We have this apricot tree in our yard and 2013 is the first year that it bear more than 2 fruits! It is so unique and refreshing to cut fruits from your own tree (even a small one like ours) and eat them! I grabbed the opportunity that Panagiota was at home and asked her to shoot some photos.

Spray Paint

Here I am with something different today!
As a part of a project for my school (which is soon coming to an end!) I had to do some stencils. And of course I couldn't help but to use some stenciled letters to write Double Crochets! I had this fucsia fluo spray paint, since forever, and lucky me it was still usable.

 ^^ the "S" was missing somewhere  :P  so at first it was double crochet ^^

 ^^ I also used a piece of broderie cotton lace to produce this special stencil effect

 ^^ later on I used a black marker to outline the letters (and to add the "S" and the yarn ball)

 ^^ laying dry stencils and a pine cone I decided to paint...

now I can't wait to experiment with more lacy stuff and spray. Oh and I also advice you to use gloves while spray painting (guilty fluo fucsia hands)

mint bow necklace

The other day Rosa ordered the bow necklace in mint and I must say that I love it on that particular shade. Here are some photos and an new idea of combining it with the neck{lace}/

edit: after Natasa from Creative Tsouf asked, I realised I had to mention the materials!
Well to make that bow I uses mercerized cotton and chain. ^_^

Ice Tea Party

Photo Review: lately

Only few days ago ended the two week holiday break, that we had, and like I've been expected, the days flew faster than the wind.

Of course there are more photos, with traditional Greek Easter scenery and some celebration cakes (shhh secrets), but these above are my favorite ones that remind me of my relaxing time. I'm probably having an artist's block for a while now, while trying to maintain calmness in the craze of my weeks that keep flying away, but hopefully creativity will find its way to my door :)

Paper folding

Γεια χαρά!

on April I was lucky enough to attend the first part of a paper folding seminar at the Εργαστήρι Τέχνης at Chalkida *art laboratory it means* , and here are some photos!

There was a projection with origami and paper folding history, and contemporary artists who use paper. Georgia Gremouti, a contemporary artist herself and the sweetest person, conducted the workshop and taught us a lot! To be honest I am totally fascinated, and can't wait to learn more on the subject.

Νoteworthy were the lab facilities, so awesome that it felt pretty neat just to be there. I also met a lot of very interesting people, and that's good news, not just because Chalkida is the town I'll be living soon.

We all folded a lot of paper!!

there are so many ways to use this technique (above there is a handwritten letter, folded and painted, I sent to my koubara :P ) Can't wait to find more ways to use it.

Oh and that was what I wore that day: A skirt I made just before the seminar (hallo folded pleats over there!) and a crocheted blouse I also made...and probably will be making more for our Etsy shop.
