fleas and markets

These days and my first bazaar in Chalkida

The day after Christmas finds me listening to this album, a little melancholic and blue. Instead of cleaning up the house as I have planned for today, I'm browsing some favorite blogs and drinking hot coffee all day...guilty! And as I was thinking that I haven't posted all the stuff that I intended to (a post on curly hair, on knitting, and movies were only some already planned posts), I decided to share some photos from the past weekend.

These are some shots I got while I was preparing for my first bazaar in Chalkida. It was a fundraising Christmas bazaar for stray animal, where I had my booth, along with my mother's-in-law booth of sweets ^_^

It was a really good extended weekend, I spend almost 5 days there and met a whole bunch of new people, and connected with really interesting crafters that live in Chalkida. It was a success! But my home now looks really bad...concluding that I am terrible at planning!

Christmas day was good and so I am expecting the next weekend to be, but for today blue is all I have.
How are you feeling these days?
so long

p.s. here is Lolita, Paris, and Tickis the cat, my friend's Nasia, pets! Nasia, Paris and Lolita accompanied and helped me for most of the days! Aren't they the cutest?

Christmas bazaar for the stray animals

Hi! Next weekend you could combine holiday shopping with helping the stray animals of Dilesi...if you are in Greece ^_^ A friend of mine, Nasia whom I recently learnt how to crochet, and myself we will be contributing the bazaar with some crocheted goods. All the money that will be gathered will go for the stray animals and particularly our contribution will go for the examination of Lolita, a dog with Kala Azar.

Does it happen anything similar near you?
kiss

photo review: P.T.

Yesterday I came across this grammar rule:  "If + past tense => would/wouldn't + infinitive"  "The combination of the past tense and would, usually suggest that the situation is imaginary or impossible or less definite to happen....."  But definitely that's not the case of the combination of If and our Past Tense bazaar, where everything is full of imagination but most likely real and possible!!!

Double Crochets certainly were there last weekend, and while Panagiota did her best to help, although her days are extremely full, you could meet me and our Double Crochets' goodιes, on both days. We had a great time, and the thing I really enjoyed most, was the company of the other participants!

here are some photos:

Panagiota shot this one for me <3 Do you like our little corner?

Double Crochets ftw
we were a great team, and we laughed a lot

but mostly I was with Dimitra from "Daydream Handmade lingerie" since our stands were side by side

There were also Grandmama's ReLoved, Lazy Di, Bicky Wicky bakes (nom nom bestes little sweets, I would eat anyday) and Swell Dame (of course), that I didn't get a photo of! but I love their work, so you better click on their links!
So I believe that that was it!
It was one of the awesomest bazaars I've ever been to! I liked the mood , the people, the way the bazaar was set up, the light ,the weather, that Tasos showed up, that I hanged out with Panagiota (whom I am not seeing so much anymore!!), but most of all I liked the company of the other fellow participants! they were really funny and interesting and it was awesome to chat with some of them. Nice to meet you guys!

cheers

Photo Review: summer "Past Tense"

Γεια σας from Double Crochets! (which means "hallo" in greek)
how's life over there? Over here, in Greece, things are a little bit messy all over the country, because of the political and economical crisis, plus the elections. Things are too serious and everyone's talking about it. But you might have notice, that when something hard and complicated happens, life keeps going....
Our lives do continue and we try to live every moment with smile and optimism. Things ain't easy at all, but right now, this only seems as a chance to prove that we can do it. Wish for us that we won't get too disappointed in the end ......

...so as life continues

...we had the bazaar, two weeks ago, and we loved it ,once more. We did a lot of preparation with half the anxiety we had last time. Cause you might remember that this was our second time taking place at a bazaar, but surely not the last! Some other bazaars are already planned for this summer! Hooray!

our little corner

Aggeliki!
We want to thank everyone who showed up, and everybody that supported us once again!! We also had a visitor that used our sale password. Thank you Vasiliki!
It lasted two days, Saturday was marvelous, Sunday was ok. The weather was too hot, and I guess most of the people, chose to spend their weekend at a beach, rather than shopping! So here's a thought: why don't we move the bazaar by the beach!? (extra info coming on).
The best part of this bazaar were, definitely, its people, we enjoyed the company of the girls who participated at Past Tense, the ones who showed up to say "hi" and of course "Les Broderies Anglaises". Below there are photos from all the girls that participated and you can find a link to them on the photo caption.

So that's for now, I'm going back on sketching and drawing for my examinations at school. But you should stay tuned, for a new post, because last Saturday we had the Kip meeting!! Knitting/Crocheting in Public is fun....so are the photos we shot! Another topic that is coming on, here at Double Crochets' blog is the "Rockin in Style festival" and the retro bazaar we organize over there!

big kiss and hold on Greece
